Renewal terms are buried in contracts that vary wildly in length, layout, and language, and the date that actually matters is rarely written down: it's the notice deadline, counted backwards from the term end. So the work gets done by hand, one contract at a time, and the one that quietly auto-renews is the one nobody re-read.
This workflow reads every contract in a folder and pulls out how renewal works — auto-renew with an opt-out, opt-in only, evergreen, or no renewal provision at all — along with the term end date, the notice window, and any pricing change on renewal. Each of those is backed by the exact quoted clause, with its page and section number, so a reader can go straight to the source.
From there the arithmetic is deterministic, not inferred: code computes the notice deadline and days remaining, flags what's urgent, and compares each contract against your standard playbook terms, turning every deviation into specific, audit-worded language. The result is a spreadsheet-ready calendar sorted soonest-deadline-first, emailed with the counts up front. Contracts that couldn't be read are listed as unprocessed rather than silently dropped, so the calendar is always the whole portfolio.

Can I check where a date came from?
Yes. Every extracted term carries the quoted clause it came from, plus its page and section number.
Does the AI calculate the deadlines?
No. The model reads the contract language; the deadline arithmetic, urgency flags, and comparisons against your standard terms are all computed in deterministic code.
What happens to a contract it can't read?
It still appears on the calendar, marked as unable to be processed. Nothing is dropped silently, so the row count always matches the folder.
How do I get the results?
As a CSV renewal calendar sorted by deadline, attached to an email that leads with the contract, urgent, and variation counts.
